Just Me, Being Me
I am Klaus Essler, a German baritenor, musical performer, opera singer and actor with a passion for storytelling through music and theatre.
My journey on stage began at a young age, and I have had the opportunity to perform in a wide range of productions with the Children’s & Youth Choir of Theater Bonn and other ensembles. Over the years, I have taken on both solo and ensemble roles across opera, musical theatre and concert repertoire.
My solo work includes roles such as Melchior in Spring Awakening, Brundibár in Brundibár, P. T. Barnum in 8 Min Lord of Barmbek, Valentin in Faust – Musical Dream Play, Zeus in The Gods’ Olympiad, First Boy in The Magic Flute and Young Faust in Faust I. I have also performed as a bass soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G and Mozart’s Coronation Mass.
Voice has always been an important part of my development as a performer. I have been studying voice with Andrey Telegin since 2018, alongside training in musical theatre, acting and dance. In 2025, I completed intensive musical-theatre courses at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and Mountview in London. Since 2026, I have been studying at Stage School Hamburg.
For me, performing is about bringing characters and stories to life and creating a genuine connection with the audience. I enjoy taking on new challenges, learning from every experience, and continuing to grow as a performer.
Thank you for visiting my website — I hope to see you in the theatre.
